I am Alissa, an illustrator based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
My love for drawing started at a very young age. The moment I could hold a pencil, my drawing journey began. I was always drawing, finding me was not hard, I was the little girl surrounded by pencils, somewhere in the corner, drawing and talking to the characters on paper. It was, and still is, my way of wandering around in my own little world.
So I knew what my next step would be.
I studied both graphic design and concept art, which gave me a strong foundation in design, color theory, perspective, and anatomy. Thanks to my education, I’m now able to bring the images in my head to life.
Through my art, I want to tell stories and express emotions and interactions. It’s my goal to show the bonds between characters and to make people feel what the illustration is trying to say.
I love creating work with themes as family, friendships, growing up, falling in love and just everyday life. Also cats! I always try to include one if the story allows it.
My greatest strength is my passion. I give every illustration and project my full energy. I’m a hard working person and I feel confident in what I do because I know I can rely on myself. I think the feeling of being able to rely on yourself is very important and I hope to share that message with other young people around the world through my work.
Besides drawing, I love going to the gym and staying active. A healthy lifestyle is really important to me. I also coach workout classes a few hours a week, which has shown me that I enjoy teaching and I might see a future of giving art classes.
But for now I want to work on fun, inspiring projects and use my illustration skills to create something meaningful.
